OurSolar Program

Interest in renewable energy is growing, but installing solar panels at home is incredibly time-consuming and expensive. But as a cooperative, we can do it together!

OurSolar is a new initiative from the Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, a branch of Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. We are building a brand-new solar array at our Marietta office, and the renewable energy produced by it will be added to our overall energy mix.

How much will this cost? For the average member household, only about 35 cents a year!

Washington Electric Cooperative Rebate Program

WECI offers several incentives to participate in programs to save you — and the cooperative — money by controlling peak energy loads. By installing radio-controlled switches on electric water heaters, heat pumps, geothermal systems and whole-house air conditioners, the co-op is able to reduce wholesale power purchases, thus saving money and resources. Learn more here.

Washington Electric Cooperative, Inc., is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving more than 10,500 rural customers in southeastern Ohio.

Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative

Today, Buckeye REC serves over 18,821 consumers in parts of nine counties: Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton.

Buckeye REC is part of a cooperative power generation system (Buckeye Power), from where wholesale electricity is purchased to be distributed and sold at retail rates to co-op members.

Follow instructions associated with the Peak Alert Warning broadcasts to help control the amount of electricity being used on the Buckeye REC system. This will save all co-op members money in the long run.

Follow the Buckeye REC webpage links for energy conservation tips, energy audits, and rebates.

South Central Power Company

Serving nearly 117,000 homes, farms, schools and businesses, South Central Power is Ohio’s largest electric cooperative in 24 Ohio counties, with over 11,000 miles of energized power lines.

South Central Power Company members will soon have access to affordable renewable energy through the OurSolar program. The electric cooperative broke ground for the 650 kW solar array on September 18, 2017. With EnviroWatts you can directly support renewable energy.

For more information about energy management incentives and rebates, contact South Central Power at 1-855-210-2665. Additionally, South Central Power has teamed up with Buckeye Power and Apogee, Inc. to provide energy calculators and other helpful resources.
